Changes in housing, cost
Due to a scheduling glitch at Koronis, there are fewer options for housing but the cost is lower.
• Option #1 is Sunrise lodging, hotel-like room with two beds and in-room bathroom, now available for only $230 per person for a double. Also, there are limited single rooms available for $255.
• Option #2 is for commuters who are not staying at Koronis. The cost is still $150.
Prices include 5 meals (Friday dinner, 3 Saturday, Sunday breakfast) plus Mission u cost in addition to housing.
Virtual: Registration Deadline July 20
If cost is a factor or you are unable to commit a weekend away, Virtual Mission u is for you. Classes are schedule via Zoom for July 30, August 1, 6, & 8, starting at 7:00 pm and ending at 9:30 pm. The cost is just $25.
Dean Cindy Saufferer will join you and Study Leader Abigail Keckhafer, member of Anoka UMC, to draw closer to God and one another as you explore together what is the kin-dom of God and what does it mean to make a home with God.
Group Option
A local unit or other group can meet in one place to share Virtual Mission u together. Each individual in your group must register separately.
Your Study Leader will be Becky Coleman, a member of Living Spirit UMC and a newly certified lay speaker who helped lead “Practicing Resurrection” for Mission u 2017.
Officers required to attend
MN Conference UWFaith Officers (elected and appointed) as well as District Presidents are required by our Standing Rules to attend a Mission u each year, unless excused by our Conference President. Therefore, Mission u cost with double occupancy room plus vouchered mileage are paid for by MN Conference UWFaith.
If you are a District Officer, check with your District President.
Welcome Home
The adult curriculum for Mission u 2024 explores how we can know God as an intimate friend who welcomes us. Abiding in God’s safety and dwelling in God’s provision allows us to open our hearts to a fuller embrace of the power and presence of God so that we may find our home in God. Dig deeper into what it means to live in the kin-dom of God and how this helps us to develop practices for building and existing in healthier communities.
You can purchase a copy of Welcome Home on the UWFaith website . When you enter the “Mission u” page, you will find links for purchasing a hard copy for $14.99 or an ebook from Amazon for $5.95.
You do not need the book to attend Mission u.
